Dr. Lisa Rezende is a professor in the Molecular and Cellullar Biology department at the University of Arizona. Before her time at UA, Dr. Rezende earned a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University and a Doctorate in Microbiology and Immunology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. In 2001, she received the Mass Media Fellowship from AAA (the folks that publish the journal Science) and spent the summer working in science and journalism. Since that point, she has been particularly interested in education, outreach, and communication within STEM and hopes to help her students become effective scientific communicators.
